Steve Purcell is a Grammy, Cable Ace, and Multi-Emmy award-winning Filmmaker, Producer, Director, Editor and Photographer
Purcell is President of SLP Productions, Inc.. SLP has produced and directed award-winning projects throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Notable projects include Prince's Lovesexy Tour - Paul McCartney’s, A Postcard from Arizona - B.B. King’s, The Blues Summit - The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson - One Day in Auschwitz - One Night in Jordan, and Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill Live, for which Purcell won a Grammy for Producing and Directing. Purcell has produced and or directed documentaries and specials for all the major networks and streaming services.
Purcell has held Producer, Director roles at Paisley Park Productions, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, NBC Universal Media, The Walt Disney Company, and CBS, to name a few. He has served as Senior Vice President of Content & Distribution at PBS SoCal, the third most-watched PBS station in the nation. In addition, Purcell was Senior Vice President of Post Production for The Sim Group International, which provides post-production services for television and feature film clients, including American Idol, Game of Thrones, and the Academy Awards. Purcell has also served as a professor of Television and Film at Syracuse University.
As a Photographer, Purcell's projects have taken him to Antarctica, Cuba, Africa, Auschwitz, Poland, Morocco, Jordan, Japan, Turkey, Greenland, Iceland, the list goes on.
