Steve Purcell is an award-winning filmmaker, producer, director, editor, and photographer whose career has been distinguished by a Grammy Award, a CableACE Award, and multiple Emmy Awards.

As President of SLP Productions, Inc., Purcell has led the creation and direction of acclaimed productions across the United States, Europe, and Asia. His notable credits include Prince’s Lovesexy Tour, Paul McCartney’s A Postcard from Arizona, BB King’s The Blues Summit, One Day in Auschwitz, One Night in Jordan, and Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill Live—the latter earning him a Grammy Award for Producing and Directing. He has also produced and directed numerous documentaries and television specials for leading networks and streaming platforms.

Purcell’s executive leadership includes senior roles at Paisley Park Productions, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, NBCUniversal, The Walt Disney Company, and CBS. He served as Senior Vice President of Content & Distribution at PBS SoCal, the third most-watched PBS station in the nation, and as Senior Vice President of Post Production at The Sim Group International, a premier service provider for series and films, including American Idol, Game of Thrones, and The Academy Awards. He has also served as Professor of Television and Film at Syracuse University.

An accomplished photographer, Purcell has documented cultures and landscapes around the globe—journeying through Antarctica, Cuba, Africa, Auschwitz, Poland, Morocco, Jordan, Japan, Turkey, Greenland, Iceland, and beyond.

Purcell is a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
